Dakota Bar opened in June 2000 on Dublin’s South William Street. For decades, South William Street was the centre of the Rag Trade in Dublin – Dakota used to house the fabric warehouse for nearby Grafton Street’s Switzers Department Store. Switzers is now long gone and has been replaced by uber fancy department store, Brown Thomas.
Over the past decade South William Street has flourished as a destination with plenty of hip eateries and bars opening, along with some of the bigger Hair and Beauty Saloons in the city. It is from this local crowd that Dakota draws in the masses. We pride ourselves on being one of Dublin’s most popular bars. Whether it’s a casual catch-up with friends, a business lunch, corporate event or special celebration – Dakota is the go-to bar for every occasion.
We have a large outdoor terrace – perfect to watch the world go by on one of Dublin’s most diverse and atmospheric streets – South William Street.
There are many facets to Dakota – during the day we serve fine freshly made food and offer an oasis of calm in the centre of the city. At night – it’s a popular destination for drinks and social gatherings.
The main principles behind Dakota are offering the public the best in quality food and drinks and service in a modern and chic interior.
We look forward to welcoming you.
